NISSAN: THE END OF DIESEL SALES IN EUROPE🚗

POSTED BY ALICE

A few months ago, we mentioned in this article that the Japanese brand Toyota had announced during the Geneva Motor Show they will stop selling diesel cars in Europe. Nissan took the same decision given the context of the disaffection of motorists for diesel cars. This procedure will first be gradual, in fact, Nissan has not provided a precise timetable. One sure thing is that the manufacturer is moving towards the electric in the long term. Nissan is one of the pioneers in the field of electric cars thanks to its 2010 City model.: Leaf.

“In Europe, where our diesel sales are concentrated, the push of the electrification will allow us to gradually stop the diesel for the cars with each renewal of model,” said a spokesman of the group.

The manufacturer will therefore focus on purely electric models and vehicles teams' e-power systems; that is an electric propulsion system with a petrol engine to recharge the vehicle battery.

The stop of sale of diesel vehicles is a rather general movement. Indeed Volkswagen group also followed the movement; and last week, the Audi brand announced the interruption of the delivery of these models A5 and A6 diesel, after discovering “irregularities”.
